Storage spaces.
A space is a named folder people open from Home. Shared spaces are for a team. My files is one private folder for each person. Storage locations stay where the files actually live; most people never see those names.
Home
Files opens on a grid of the spaces you can reach. My files is first. Open one and the path at the top starts at Home, then the space, then the folders inside it. You do not pick a disk or a bucket.
Shared spaces
An administrator creates a shared space on a folder and grants view, edit, or full access to people and groups. A grant can cover the whole space or one folder inside it. The access you get is the widest grant that covers the file you opened. A grant on a folder further down shows you the path to that folder and nothing beside it.
My files
A personal space gives each person one folder, from a pattern such as
home/{user}. The folder is chosen the first time they
use it and does not move if the pattern later changes. A shared grant
on the same storage cannot open someone else's My files. An
administrator can open one person's folder from the Spaces page, and
that opening is recorded.
From the command line
Set FARWING_SERVER to the server address and
FARWING_TOKEN to an API key.
farwing spaces
farwing ls "Marketing:/2026"
farwing get "Marketing:/2026/launch.mov" .
farwing send "~/incoming/notes.txt" ./notes.txt
Quote a space name that contains a space. ~ means My files.
Package links and receive links work as before, including with an older
server. A new app talking to a server that does not have spaces yet says
so and asks you to have the server updated.
